GIveaway for a wet day

The weather has seriously let us down recently .. with the days of rain, rain and more rain .. I think that we had our Summer in May ... and to be honest we have just got to face the fact..

I really figured that all of you lot out there needed a little bit of a cheer up - so we are having a little giveaway.

We have had a lovely delivery of Scandinavian inspired cottons .. So I figured they would be a nice prize.

The question that I would like you to answer out there in order to enter is ...

If the sun came out tomorrow .. for a whole day ( yes proper sun that would last at least 10 hours) .. how would you spend your day?

-The prize is this great little fabric stack 16 fat quarters - worth approx £50.00

-The competition is open to the UK and Europe and I will post to the winner

-The competition will run until Monday the 16th of  July

- Please leave your comment on this blog

-I will notify the winner via this blog and Facebook .. so keep and eye on us

Silly answers will be looked upon fondly .. I would probably fill up the paddling pool and go for a soak ....

Lots of Luck to everyone- gwen

Can't wait until next week to try and get your hands on these goodies - you can always have a goo in our shop for a sneaky peek...

  1. I'd invite the family for a barbecue and spend the morning frantically doing an emergency shop. I'd then spend hours in the kitchen making salads and desserts... I might get into the sunshine about 5pm. :-/

  2. I'd spend the day in disbelieving happiness with a big smile on my face, a summer dress and sandals on, and I'd nip to the seaside and eat the biggest ice cream I could find!

  3. If the sun came out tomorrow, I would...

spend the day in my garden with my little Dandelion and practice bouncing really really high on the trampoline - flailing my arms around wildly and shrieking just a little bit :0)

  4. If the came out tomorrow I would.......most definitely be making the most of my dad and step mum visiting (been around a year since weve seen them). I would take them to the local park to give my daughter a push on the swings and see-saw. Then a walk along the canal to look at the boats, wave at the dogs and feed the ducks. We'd then order a cheeky take away (who wants to cook when the sun is out!). Put my worn out daughter to bed and all relax in the garden with a nice cold drink until it gets too chilly.

  5. I would go for a walk in the woods with baby and husband and then spend the rest of the day in the garden playing with my funny wee girl.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I would roll back the roof of the car, whip on the sunnies and chic headsquare and cruise around town as if I was on the Cote d'Azur!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Drive to the beach and spend the day watching my son run in and out of the sea, have a lovely picnic and be really lazy and get a take away for dinner :-)

  9. ahhhh sunshine! I would spend all day in the park, with all my friends, playing with the kids, setting up a game of rounders, having a massive picnic, buying icecreams. sigh. :)

  10. I would bunk off work, persuade hubby to as well and we'd bike to Kidderminster... And see if we could twist the arms of the Safari Park to let us bike thru to see the animals. Might have to give the lion enclosure a miss though!!! And to finish the day - a naughty KFC!

    Well, you did say silly!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'd sit in the garden with a large glass of Pimms and savour every moment!

    ReplyDelete
  12. If it came out tomorrow. What luck i dont work on fridays. I'd take myself on a shopping trip, one of those pootling about and drinking coffee outside ones. Probsbly buy fabric!

  13. I'd wake up, ponder what that funny big yellow thing was in the sky then realise I have no summer clothes due to my diet and have to rush to the shop to find something to wear! I then think a nice trip up into Northumberland for a spot of geocaching followed by either chips at the coast or a beach BBQ. Then a quick dash home to enjoy the sun in the garden because the North east coast will be enveloped by a sea fret due to the unusual good weather. lol

  14. If the sun came out tomorrow, here in gloomy and very damp North Yorkshire, I would admire it from afar, stay indoors and keep crafting!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'd try and relax in the sun.........and, being a little more realistic, probably spend it chasing and looking after my four little people - but at least it would be outside.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would release my laughter thats been in hiding for ages, put on a sun dress and sandals and skip out into the country (and that would be something for someone of my age - well over 21!! ) -- - That's put a smile on my face just thinking about it. Thanks for the thought x

  24. I think I would get up early to enjoy a cup of tea outside just me and Mr Sunshine, then open every window and door of the house to let Mr Sunshine know he is very welcome in my house, the kids would spend the morning in the pool with their dad and I would enjoy a little gardening as Mr Rain has made the weeds grow quicker than the plants! We'd all enjoy an al fresco lunch and then because it would be so lovely and sunny and warm we would all get in the pool in the afternoon to cool off! Lounging around in the cool of the afternoon reading, drawing and sewing would be next with a scrumptious BBQ washed down with thirst quenching lager shandy's and Pimms for me! What a wonderful day it would be.....if only.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would grab my husband, load up the car and wing it down to my caravan in cornwall. We would sit outside drinking pimms, tending the barbie and soak up the sun! If only!

    ReplyDelete
  26. if it was sunny tomorrow, I'd put of the pile off ironing I've got to do and head into the city for a beautiful coffee from my favourite coffee shop, I'd spend an hour or so drawing the people I can see, then go treasure hunting round all the antique, vintage and charity shops that Norwich has to offer. I'd then find a lovely pub garden with friends *yay pub garden* and enjoy a Crabbes with them and then stay there watching the sun set with chatter and giggles. xxx

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would go and enjoy my garden, weeds and all. Those lovely fabrics would bring sunshine every day.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'd wear a skirt rather than jeans for a change, pack my book, some lunch and my camping chair and take the kids to the beach for the day so we could all get some much needed sunlight and fresh air!

    ReplyDelete
  35. After googling 'big yellow round thing appears in the sky' just to make sure it wasn't anything I should be worrying about I would probably just sit outside and smile :-)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I would spend it trying to find my garden, I know if I open the back door it is out there somewhere... the bindweed creeps relentlessly towards the house and the grass, or should I say waist high pampas waves in the breeze. If I could clear the garden I could sit with a clear conscience and sew, occasionally looking out of the window to feel calm and just a bit smug. In fact I could sit on my bench handstitching to my hearts content

But it will rain tomorrow, so I am confined to guilty sewing and much sighing as I look at the advancing bindweed and all manner of slugs and snails it hides :(

Sunglasses on and beach towel. We would pretend we are on the beach, may even build a sand castle (play dough instead). Read a few good magazines and eat a bocadillo de tortilla, spanish style. Annoy some park neighbours with the ball and come back home .. But Only my husband can get a bit sun burned!!

  42. I'd nag dh to get the digger out the field, get the tractor cutting the said field, I'd laze around reading the next 50shades book and we'd have a BBQ lunch and then go and celebrate Bastille day by watching the fireworks and having a night out with the kids at the fayre :)... won't be holding my breath though :)

  43. well i would do what i was planning to do before all this rotten weather. Going to the local Grow It, Make It, Share It event my friend is organising (which has been moved and downscaled because of weather) in the local park, with my daughter and our friends. Play in the park, look at the stalls, buy yummy food, go to the museum, go to the cafe and have a lovely dinner in the garden. Instead Daddy is taking daughter to cinema and i will sew and then we will go to very downscaled event in town with umberellas instead - not too bad I suppose!

  44. Firstly, after my shower,I would make a lovely coffee and go sit in the garden listening to the birds singing and taking in the atmosphere. Then after putting on my shorts (shock horror white legs) and a sun top, would go back in the garden to tackle the horrendous amount of weeds that have sprung up in all this awful rain. In between times I would have put about 3 wash loads on (gotta have washing on the line on a sunny day. Phew!!!! Bring on the sun. Brillian giveaway by the way Thanks xx

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm with you, fill up the paddling pool, fire up the BBQ and finally get to sleep in the big top tent that fits over our new trampoline with my boy!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd take Archie for a walk on the beach without a brolly or coat (yeah!) and wander back with an ice cream. I'd then sit in the conservatory sewing and listening to Dermot's radio show (or my ipod if I got my timing wrong!) and sew whilst admiring my freshly cut grass and watching Archie wriggling on his back and enjoying the sun. Then I'd take Archie (and Alfie this time) for another walk (no brolly or coat for two consecutive walks - how unusual!) and maybe get another ice cream...or maybe a strawberry mivvy. Well, that or wait for the washing machine repair man to give me his verdict on a washer that isn't spinning...thanks for a splendid giveaway!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  52. Up bright an early with the family for a picnic in the park blowing bubbles on the way ignoring the looks of those that have forgotten how much fun bubbles can be. On the way back we would forage for. wild raspberries. Then we would have a fantastic bbq with family, friends and neighbours with plenty of good food, pimms and music (bunting opportunity here!) The kids would have fun with games like egg & spoon race, sack race and play in the paddling pool which the adults could take advantage of once the kiddies have passed out in bed.
Once everyone had left, hubbie and I would cozy on up outside arguing about whose pilly wally skin is had less of a blue tinge to it now, until the last of the sun had gone down falling into silence whilst watching the stars in the sky.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If the sun came out? Erm... I'd go up to my craft room and sew all day!

  59. I would pack the tin of cookies and flapjacks i made today (what else can you do when it rains except bake and sew?!) throw the kids, the hubby and the dog in the car and go upto Dartmoor to jump about in rivers, climb big rocks and make tea on the camping stove, bliss :-)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would have breakfast with the doors open to the garden, have a bbq lunch, then take my toddler down to the sea front where there is an outdoor splash pool. He loves it there and runs around non-stop for hours! Then walk home, leftover bbq food for tea (bbqed bacon is amazing for anyone who hasn't tried it!) and crocheting/knitting/sewing in the evening. I'd like that sun now please!

    ReplyDelete
  61. If the sun were to come out...
I would skip through the local town, clad only in three delicate triangles of Celtic Fusion's finest fabrics. Lustily singing a rousing chorus of The Sun Has Got Has Hat On Hip Hip Hip Hooray! Only to be apprehended by the local constabulary and charged with crimes against common decency. Whereupon I would spend the next week languishing at her majesties pleasure, embroidering mail bags to my hearts content.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'd paint my toe nails pink, put on some strappy sandals and hope the sun and breeze to my feet delays the onset of trench foot.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I would start with breakfast on the patio then walk around the garden admiring the flowers and trying not to sink to my knees in my muddy swampy grass, then I would sit and plan new craft ideas to do when it starts raining again (which could be tomorrow lolll)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think I'd also spend the day in our lovely garden - maybe a nice barbeque with friends, admiring the good work that all this rain has done to our flower beds!

    ReplyDelete
  69. If the sun came out I'd obviously be dreaming so anything is possible! In my dream I'd have whipped up a quick quilt with these gorgeous fabrics, packed a picnic basket and dressed in something glamorous whilst waiting for my dream-hunk (who looks a lot like Nathan Fillion) to pick me up in an open-top sports car and whisk me away somewhere (who cares where, let's be honest!), whisper sweet nothings in my ear and feed me large amounts of chocolate whilst cuddling together under said quilt ... ahh bliss!

Go on Gwen, you know you want to make this happen for me - I just need those fabrics and everything else is a dead cert ... well, apart from the sun, maybe :o) xxx

    ReplyDelete
  70. I would have to grab a great picnic and take my love ones to a country spot where we can soak up the sun and scenery and enjoy the great outdoors and maybe feed a few birds

    ReplyDelete
  71. I would strip off to my flip flops and go skinny dipping in the river - but sadly because it would embarrass the family if their naked fat fifty something mother got arrested I would open all the windows, let the chickens out to sun bathe, put the tortoises out in their summer run, put the sunshades on the rabbits run, hubbie would probably go for a long bike ride and I would then be free to spend a whole guilt free day sewing in my lovely sunny room knowing everyone else is happy too.
Thanks for the amazing opportunity to win, the fabrics are beautiful. xx

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'd whip out the paddling pool and water guns for the kids, let them invite friends around and go wild in the garden. Then for dinner we would have a lovely BBQ until the sun set. I fondly remember this type of warm hazy summer days as a child and would love to make many happy carefree memories for my own children.

    ReplyDelete
